Getting Started

The common ones

The questions almost everyone asks in the first email.

Four things, and they all land on your bottom line. You get your nights and weekends back instead of pricing tenders after hours. You get more tenders out the door, which is the most direct path to winning more work. Your pricing is measured rather than guessed, so a missed item stops quietly eating your margin. And with a use-as-needed service there's no wage, no super and no idle overhead in a quiet month. Want it in dollars rather than words? Our estimating service benefits and ROI calculator works out the return using your own tender volume, win rate and margin.

Simply send us your plans, specifications, and scope of works by email or via our contact form. We review the documentation, identify any discrepancies, and deliver a thorough quantity takeoff and estimate ready for tendering. Fast turnaround, no lock-in contracts.

We assist over 20 trades including plumbing, electrical, earthworks, structural concrete, bricklaying, carpentry, roofing, plastering, painting, tiling, waterproofing, insulation, landscaping and more — for both residential and commercial projects across Australia.

Yes. Eagle Eye Estimations provides remote estimating services to tradies and subcontractors across all of Australia — including Perth, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and regional areas. Our service is fully remote — you send us your plans digitally and we deliver your estimate, no matter your location.

No. We operate on a use-as-needed basis with no lock-in contracts and no retainers. You only pay for the estimating work you require, when you require it. This makes Eagle Eye Estimations perfect for tradies who have fluctuating tender workloads.

Yes. Eagle Eye Estimations' services are a legitimate business expense and are tax-deductible for Australian businesses. We recommend confirming specifics with your accountant.

Plans in by 5pm, estimate back within 24 hours on most residential jobs. Larger commercial tender packages take longer because there is more to measure — send the plans through and we will confirm the exact timing straight away, before you commit to anything.

The practical ones

Cost, deliverables, insurance and confidentiality — the things worth checking before you send drawings to anyone.

Your first estimate is free. After that the fee is confirmed in writing as a fixed amount before any work starts, so there are no surprises on the invoice. No retainer, no subscription, no lock-in contract. The pricing page sets it out in full.

The drawings, the specification and the scope of works you are tendering — in any format, including photos of a marked-up hard copy. If something we need is missing, we will tell you before we start rather than filling the gap with an assumption you cannot see.

Colour-coded marked-up drawings with a measured legend, and a live Excel spreadsheet with the quantities in one column and your rates in another. It is a working file you keep and can reuse, not a locked PDF with a single total on it.

Yes, and we would rather you did. Your supply prices, labour and plant hire are yours — a national average rate card is no use to you. Send your rates and the sheet is built around them, or leave the rate column blank and fill it in yourself.

Yes. Eagle Eye Estimations carries $1M professional indemnity insurance. If you need the certificate of currency for a builder's prequalification pack, ask and we will send it through.

Send the revised set and tell us what changed. Because the takeoff is a live spreadsheet with traceable markup, a revision is usually a targeted update rather than a rebuild, and we confirm the cost of it with you before doing the work.

Yes. Drawings and scopes are treated as confidential and are not shared or used as examples without permission. Where work is shown publicly, project details are kept general and client names are removed.

No. Most of our work is for subcontractors pricing their own trade package, but we also work with builders needing a full takeoff across trades and with suppliers needing quantities to quote against.

Yes, two. The concrete calculator works out slab, footing and column volumes with a bag or truck count, and the estimating ROI calculator works out what an estimator is worth against your own tender volume, win rate and margin. Both are free to use.

Trade-specific questions

Each trade page has its own set of questions about how that particular work gets measured — waste allowances on tiling, wind classification on carpentry, R-values on insulation, and so on.
